The Playa de las Americas is located on the south coast of Tenerife, called the island of Eternal Spring, in Spain just near the Reina Sofia airport. It is the largest built resort on the island. It has even spread out to include Toviscas and San Eugenio. It neighbors Costa Adeje and Los Cristianos. The beach is a distinctive combination of black volcanic dust and golden sand along with the dramatic mountain ranges that break up the whole island of Tenerife
Playa de las Americas suggest an all year round of sun, just lying off the African coast; the climate tends to be much warmer during the winter season than most continental resorts, thus making it the ideal holiday during the winter months. Playa de Las Americas takes pride in the Playa de Guincho, which is very much popular with wave surfers and wind surfers, although it is not ideal for sun bathers because of its rocky terrain.
